Happy 2026 (a few weeks late) from Mama-Betes!

Hi Reader!

I hope 2026 is off to a great start for you. There are so many exciting advancements in the pipeline in the diabetes world already this year! A few updates that I am most excited about are:

  • Diabeloop will be partnering with Twiist and will be available to use on the Twiist pump
  • Everesence will be available to integrate with Twiist in the next few months (rumor is this should be available around April)
  • Tandem has a new 7-day wear tubeless pump coming
  • Medtronic just announced FDA clearance of their new MiniMed Go system, combining the InPen with the 15-day Abbott Instrinct sensor (I would definitely be trying this out if I weren't a pump user!)

There are more choices for diabetes technology than ever before, which is VERY exciting! For a rundown of all of the different devices available on the market, check out the Diabetes Wise Device Library.

What I'm loving this month on Amazon!

Here are a few of my favorite purchases from the past month:

  • Portable sound machine: Sleep is SO important for blood sugar control. I LOVE this portable sound machine for helping block out noise so I can sleep better. This goes with me on every vacation I take, and I often use it at home too.
  • Glass Tupperware containers: I have been slowly switching out all of my storage containers to glass. I love how large these containers are. I made a double batch of chili to freeze recently, and it easily fit in the large one!
  • Heated pullover: I honestly don't know how I survived the past 37 winters without one of these! I love that I can wear it on its own when it is slightly chilly outside, or under a coat on super cold days. The heated jackets and vests are also really nice.
  • Stone dish drying mat: I love how quickly this dries when it gets wet, and it looks nice on my kitchen counter.
  • The Best Kid's Cookbook: I bought this for my 9-year-old daughter, who has recently started getting more interested in cooking and baking. We have been having so much fun making easy recipes together!

Hi Reader! School started for my kids this week, and maybe it’s the Type A in me, but being back to a routine feels glorious. I love summer, but by mid‑August I’m ready for cooler mornings and more predictable days. Evenings are officially back to chauffeuring my kids around to soccer, baseball, tennis, and gymnastics. For me, staying busy and having a steady rhythm makes blood‑sugar management so much easier. Next week I have an appointment with a new endocrinologist. My last endo left the...

Hi Reader! I always underestimate how busy summer gets. Between work, vacations, playdates, and being the mom taxi, life fills up fast. Because of that, I’ve paused taking Nourish clients so I can focus on my blog, Omnipod trainings, and private clients in the FTF Warrior program. I truly believe in the FTF Warrior program. It’s designed to help you tighten up your blood sugars, hit 90%+ time-in-range, and predict how food, exercise, and everyday life affect your blood sugars. If you want...

Hi Reader! Happy Prime Day! I've been scouring deals and found some fantastic finds that I use and love personally, that I just had to share with you. Check them out below! On another note, summer is officially here (and it's my absolute favorite time of year! 🌞), which means it's prime time to talk about keeping insulin cool. Between beach trips, pool days, and spontaneous outdoor adventures, don't forget that your insulin needs a little extra TLC in the heat. Speaking of summer vibes, have...
