Back to routine (and better blood sugars) - plus travel tips

Hi Reader!

School started for my kids this week, and maybe it’s the Type A in me, but being back to a routine feels glorious. I love summer, but by mid‑August I’m ready for cooler mornings and more predictable days. Evenings are officially back to chauffeuring my kids around to soccer, baseball, tennis, and gymnastics. For me, staying busy and having a steady rhythm makes blood‑sugar management so much easier.

Next week I have an appointment with a new endocrinologist. My last endo left the practice after only one visit, which was a bummer because I really liked her! Fingers crossed this new one is a great fit and happy to keep prescribing all my off-the-wall diabetes tools.

I did a lot of traveling this summer, and it inspired a new blog post with tips to prepare for travel with T1D. Make sure to check it out below!

What I'm loving this month on Amazon

Here are a few things that have landed in my cart this month:

  • The best lunch box - I buy a new one of these freezable Pack It lunch boxes for my kids every year for school. We store them in the freezer, and they keep their food cold all day!
  • Kids Calcium + Vitamin D supplement - getting dairy in my son is nearly impossible unless it is in the form of ice cream or pizza. I've been worried about his Calcium intake and he actually really likes these and takes them willingly every morning.
  • Cute athletic dress - Very cute and comfy, and comes in some great colors.
  • New tool for dental hygiene - Ok, so this one is a bit gross, but I finally bit the bullet and decided to try a tongue scraper. This one is very gentle and easy to use.
  • CGM armband - This machine-washable armband keeps your CGM (or Omnipod) secure on your arm and helps keep it cool and out of direct sunlight.

Until next time,

Lindsay

P.S. - When I find a product that makes diabetes EASIER and less of a burden, I have to share it! One product I constantly recommend to the clients I coach is the Sugardash. See why I love it so much in this video. You can purchase your own Sugardash using my affiliate link.

Hi Reader! I always underestimate how busy summer gets. Between work, vacations, playdates, and being the mom taxi, life fills up fast. Because of that, I’ve paused taking Nourish clients so I can focus on my blog, Omnipod trainings, and private clients in the FTF Warrior program. I truly believe in the FTF Warrior program. It’s designed to help you tighten up your blood sugars, hit 90%+ time-in-range, and predict how food, exercise, and everyday life affect your blood sugars. If you want...

Hi Reader! Happy Prime Day! I've been scouring deals and found some fantastic finds that I use and love personally, that I just had to share with you. Check them out below! On another note, summer is officially here (and it's my absolute favorite time of year! 🌞), which means it's prime time to talk about keeping insulin cool. Between beach trips, pool days, and spontaneous outdoor adventures, don't forget that your insulin needs a little extra TLC in the heat. Speaking of summer vibes, have...

Hi Reader! Spring is here, and while I've been busy decluttering closets and cleaning out my garage, I realized there's another area of my life that could use some spring cleaning: my diabetes management. Lately, I've been working with many clients, helping fine-tune basal rates and bolus ratios. As I've been guiding others through these adjustments, it hit me - when was the last time I gave my own settings a thorough review? If I'm being honest, it's been way too long. So I'm committing to...
