A Little February Update (and Some Exciting News!)

Hi Reader!

Happy February, friend!

You know that time of year when it’s still freezing, but the sun ☀️ randomly shows up along with a warmer day here and there, and you’re like, “Wait… is that hope?” That’s February. We’re still lugging around our puffy coats, but we know that spring is just around the corner.

I’ve got some exciting news to share this month! For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on something behind the scenes, and now I can finally share: I’m joining the FTF Warrior team as a basal/bolus analytics coach!

I’ll be leading a weekly group call for program participants and diving into CGM and pump data (yes, I actually love this stuff 🤓). If you’ve ever stared at your graph thinking, “Why did my blood sugar do that?” - this is exactly the kind of puzzle-solving we’ll be doing.

I’ll be working alongside Matt Vande Vegte, who is such a sharp, practical voice in the T1D space. His approach is all about real-life strategies - not perfection, not guilt, not “just try harder.” Just smart, doable adjustments and formulas that not only fit into mom life, but actually make it easier.

He hosts the podcast Pardon My Pancreas, and I definitely recommend giving it a listen if you haven’t already. It’s packed with helpful insights, and it feels like learning without the overwhelm.

If you’re curious about the FTF Warrior program and want the inside scoop, reach out to me anytime. I’m always happy to share more details.

Here’s to warmer days, steadier CGM lines, and doing this whole T1D life together. 💙

What I'm loving this month on Amazon!

Here are a few of my favorite purchases from the past month:

  • Skin prep wipes - I use these for every pod change. Not only do they clean the skin, but they also give it a slight tackiness that helps the pod stay on.
  • Favorite new swim coverup - I will probably be living in this over the summer!
  • Contour next strips - Even though I rarely check my blood sugar these days, I like to have a backup meter on hand just in case I need to calibrate or check a reading during the warm-up period of my Dexcom. The Contour meter is one of the most accurate I have found, and for the amount of test strips I need, Amazon is the best deal price-wise.
  • Amika hair and body mist - Great for a quick refresh after a walk or workout!
  • Macro- and calorie-counting food scale - Weighing your food with a food scale is SO helpful for determining the actual carb counts instead of just guessing. This one is really cool because it calculates the nutrition info of the food you are weighing.

Hi Reader! School started for my kids this week, and maybe it’s the Type A in me, but being back to a routine feels glorious. I love summer, but by mid‑August I’m ready for cooler mornings and more predictable days. Evenings are officially back to chauffeuring my kids around to soccer, baseball, tennis, and gymnastics. For me, staying busy and having a steady rhythm makes blood‑sugar management so much easier. Next week I have an appointment with a new endocrinologist. My last endo left the...

Hi Reader! I always underestimate how busy summer gets. Between work, vacations, playdates, and being the mom taxi, life fills up fast. Because of that, I’ve paused taking Nourish clients so I can focus on my blog, Omnipod trainings, and private clients in the FTF Warrior program. I truly believe in the FTF Warrior program. It’s designed to help you tighten up your blood sugars, hit 90%+ time-in-range, and predict how food, exercise, and everyday life affect your blood sugars. If you want...

Hi Reader! Happy Prime Day! I've been scouring deals and found some fantastic finds that I use and love personally, that I just had to share with you. Check them out below! On another note, summer is officially here (and it's my absolute favorite time of year! 🌞), which means it's prime time to talk about keeping insulin cool. Between beach trips, pool days, and spontaneous outdoor adventures, don't forget that your insulin needs a little extra TLC in the heat. Speaking of summer vibes, have...
